Explore dog-friendly Alameda!

The sunny island paradise of Alameda is one of the most dog-friendly cities in the Bay Area. We’re home more than 100 restaurants that welcome dogs at their outdoor seating areas (some even have menu items for dogs!), plenty of pretty parks, miles of stunning waterfront trails, loads of pet-friendly stores and services, and fun and unique adventures you can share with your furry friends.

Alameda is such a great place to have a dog (or cat!) that earlier this year we celebrated our city’s love of pets by publishing a fun, attractive, super informative publication: The Alameda Pet Guide. (We may have to do a reprint because we're almost out, but you can still pick one up at our main shelter.) We have a terrific digital edition you can peruse any time though!

We've gotten so much positive feedback about the 32-page magazine-style guide that we've decided to feature Alameda's dog-friendly destinations regularly here on Tails of the Island! We'll go more in depth than we could in the guide. It's going to be so much fun!
